Camp Argo is located at 886 Mapledale Road, Orange (aka Camp Cedarcrest).
Camp Argo, a new program at Camp Cedarcrest In Orange, which serves all children, including those with special needs, welcomed a couple of adorable visitors on Friday, July 28.
Maryellen Holden and her daughter Katherine, a recent college graduate, from Buttermilk Lane Farm on Garden Road in town, brought two 2-month-old goat kids (Laverne and Shirley) to meet the campers.
Camp counselors, including Denise Fantarella sat on the ground with the babies, surrounded by a circle of excited campers, who politely waited for his or her turn to come up and pet the goats.
This was a delightful experience for all of the children and the goats were so well behaved too.
Camp Argo has one more week long session this summer, and 2017 was so successful that the camp will be back again in 2018. Keep this program in mind when making summer plans for your children next summer.
The initial weeks were met with great success and served many happy campers, your kids still have time to experience everything Camp Argo has to offer.
Camp Argo, which originated in California, will take place at Orange’s own Camp Cedarcrest grounds on Mapleview Road this summer.
Camp Director Jason Nevis, an Orange resident, welcomes everyone to an Open House at the campground on Tuesday, June 20 from 5-7 p.m. Learn more about the camp, meet some staff, take a tour and ask any questions. There will be a free raffle and activities for the kids too. More information can be found on the Camp Argo website www.campargo.com or call 203-799-ARGO.

New this summer, Camp Argo has added an Autism Inclusion Program component to provide those families that have children on the Autism Spectrum a place to send ALL of their children with or without autism to the same camp!
If you feel generous, the camp could use help funding this new endeavor. So if you know someone that has a HUGE heart and can donate to its YouCaring fundraising page https://www.youcaring.com/autisminclusionprogramatcampargo-834673 then this summer will be an extraordinary one for all the campers!
Interested in getting more information before the open house? Nevis will have a booth at the Orange Strawberry Festival, so stop on by and say hello.
