thThe Case Memorial Library, 176 Tyler City Road will host the Bookcase Book Discussion Group on Thursday, Feb. 11, at 7 p.m. 

This month’s book, Go Set a Watchman by Harper Lee tells the story of 26-year-old Jean Louise Finch — “Scout” — as she returns home from New York City to visit her aging father, Atticus. Her homecoming turns bittersweet when she learns disturbing truths about her close-knit family, the town, and the people dearest to her.

Screen Shot 2015-12-10 at 7.28.38 PMThe Case Memorial Library176 Tyler City Road, welcomes actors from the Hampstead Stage for a live performance based on C. S. Lewis’s timeless classic “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe” on Monday, Dec. 14 at 4:30 p.m.

Step into the wardrobe and enter Narnia, the snowy world laced with fantasy. For children ages 5 and up. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

The play will last 50 minutes and are performed by two actors in full period costume, each playing several roles with emphasis on audience participation. If time allows a question and answer session is included.

Big-Eyes-movie-poster-e1419448997291Case Memorial Library, 176 Tyler City Road, has two fun events scheduled for next week.

Movie Time: The Library offers two free viewings of the film “Big Eyes,” first on Monday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. and Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 1 p.m. with subtitles.

Big Eyes is a drama about the awakening of the painter Margaret Keane, her phenomenal success in the 1950s, and the subsequent legal difficulties she had with her husband, who claimed credit for her works in the 1960s.

Directed by Tim Burton. Starring Amy Adams and Christoph Waltz.

106 minutes.

Rated PG-13.

Halloween Drama Workshop with Ingrid Schaeffer

Saturday, October 24, 2-3:30 PM

This event is for children ages 5-10.

In hip-hop rhyming text, Little Red Riding Hood, Goldilocks, Tom Thumb, and all of their fairy tale friends come together for a rapping, stomping, shaking Halloween romp.

Workshop will be followed by a Halloween craft.
