The Case Memorial Library, 176 Tyler City Road, offers the following upcoming events and activities for children, ‘tweens, and adults.

Oscar Film: Bohemian Rhapsody
Monday, March 25, 7 p.m.
Wednesday, March 27, 1 p.m.

The story of the legendary rock band Queen and lead singer Freddie Mercury, leading up to their famous performance at Live Aid in 1985. 2 hr. 14 min. PG-13.

Chess Club
Tuesday, March 26, 3:30 p.m.
Come join our chess club! This club is open to beginners and experienced players. During our meetings, children and tweens will be able to learn about this strategic board game and play against other club members. Feel free to bring your own chess board as the library has a small supply. For children and tweens in grades 1-6. TWAG — Bookend Painting
Wednesday, March 27, 3:45 p.m.
TWAG is going to run a little differently this month! We’ll not only discuss programming ideas and book recommendations, but we will also help beautify the Library by painting some of the Library’s bookends. These bookends will be used in the children’s room. Drinks and snacks will be served. For tweens grades 4-6. Registration is required. Mystery Book Discussion Group
Thursday, March 28, 7 p.m.
Still Life by Louise Penny: Chief Inspector Armand Gamache and his team of investigators are called in to the scene of a suspicious death in a rural village south of Montreal.  Jane Neal, a local fixture in the tiny hamlet of Three Pines, has been found dead in the woods.  The locals are certain it’s a tragic hunting accident, but Gamache smells something foul in these remote woods. Discussion led by Librarian Samantha Jasulavic.  Please check for copies at the Circulation Desk.

Family Move and Groove
Saturday, March 30, 11 a.m.
Saturday, April 6, 11 a.m.

For children ages 3-5 and their caregivers (infants, young toddlers and older siblings are welcome, too).  Shake, clap, stomp, play, and sing at this fun series for little ones and caregivers!  Children will learn about following directions, rhyme and rhythm, and creative play through music and movement.  Please wear comfortable clothing to allow freedom of movement.  Registration is required.

Children’s Art Reception
Thursday, April 4, 5-7 p.m.
Featuring the artwork of Orange elementary school children.

Ron Stallworth, an African American police officer from Colorado Springs, CO, successfully manages to infiltrate the local Ku Klux Klan branch with the help of a Jewish surrogate who eventually becomes its leader. 2 hr. 15 min. R.

Tween Advisory Group (TWAG)
Tuesday, February 26, 3:45 p.m.
Tell us what to do! Join our tween advisory group (TWAG) and help us make the library a better place for our tweens! As a member of TWAG, tweens will be able to brainstorm and help plan programs that they want to see at the library, as well as recommend books for our collection. This is a great opportunity for tweens to make their voices heard at the library! Our TWAG meetings will run once a month for tweens in grades 4-6. Pizza will be served. Registration is required. Click below, stop by the Children’s Room or call the Library to sign up!

Tech Class: Introduction to Computers

Tuesday, March 5, 10:30 a.m.
If you have never used a personal computer before and want to learn how, this is the class for you. You will learn the basic skills you need to operate a personal computer: how to point and click with a mouse and operate a keyboard. Laptops will be provided for practice. Space is limited. Registration is required.

Art in the Library Reception
Thursday, March 7, 5-7 p.m.
Featuring watercolors by Al Monroe, Mukul Mukherjee, and Lindsay Marieb.

Make a Rainbow Stress Ball
Thursday, March 7, 5:30 p.m.
For children in grades 3-6.  Dig into body science as we learn about the physiological effects of stress, then use balloons and water beads to make your own stress ball!  Please be advised that children’s skin will come into contact with water, latex balloons, and plastic water beads. Registration is required. Call the library, stop by the Children’s Room, or visit our website to reserve your space!
