Screen shot 2013-09-17 at 12.49.43 PMThe Orange Country Fair is one of the most anticipated events of the year, with animals, exhibits, contests and so many things to do, including free family photos and getting up close and personal with birds of prey.

The weather forecasters are promising that Mother Nature will sprinkle on the fairgrounds sometime this weekend, but fear not, there are plenty of indoor and undercover exhibits to enjoy that you are still sure to have a great time.

Returning this year is Juggler/Unicyclist Bruce Sarafian, who will be on the fairgrounds both days.

The Marvelous Mutts will be back with their Frisbee chasing high diving show and of course the pork chop pig races with emcee Bobby Fantarella are always a favorite. What names will Bobby come up with this year?

Residents with green thumbs have been working hard in their gardens all year long to grow the biggest most beautiful flowers, vegetables and plants to put on display with the hope of winning the coveted blue ribbon.

Artists, photographers, quilters, crafters, and bird house builders have prepared their best works for the fair as well.

Although small animals like rabbits, chickens and gerbils will be welcomed as exhibits, the ONLY dogs that are allowed on the fairgrounds are the Marvelous Mutts that will be performing — please leave your pets at home.

Admission is $7 for adults; $5 for seniors, children under 15 and persons with disabilities admitted free.

Don’t forget if you have submissions for any of the exhibits, you must bring them in to the Fairgrounds on Friday, Sept. 20 between 5:30 and 8 p.m.

Remember, all exhibits must be left in place until 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 22.

Be aware that although the fair officially starts on Saturday, the Satellite Food Tent on the lower fairgrounds will be open Friday night at 6 p.m.  and the All Mighty Truck Pull will be taking place down there at 6 p.m. as well.

Important Note: Recycling containers and garbage barrels will be located throughout the fairgrounds, please do not put garbage in the recycling containers, and do not throw recyclables in the trash.
