Screen Shot 2015-04-20 at 2.54.43 PMThe University of New Haven’s Henry C. Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences this fall will begin offering a master’s degree in investigations.

The 30-credit program — the first in the Northeast — will offer both online and on-ground courses and will have concentrations in criminal investigations, financial crime investigations and computer forensic investigations.

“The new program will build on our strengths in criminal justice and forensic science and prepare students for careers as investigators and advance practitioners in their careers in both public and private organizations,” said Mario Gaboury, dean of the Lee College. “This program will deliver a highly targeted educational experience in fields that are in high demand.”

The program will cater to students already employed in law enforcement, insurance, regulatory agencies, claims and complaints departments and homeland security.

It will be part of the Lee College’s School of Public Service and will provide graduates who can assist the FBI, Drug Enforcement Agency, Securities and Exchange Commission, Central Intelligence Agency and the Internal Revenue Service with investigations into white-collar crime, terrorism, security fraud, insurance fraud, identity theft, computer crime, government corruption and tax evasion.

“UNH has a long history of providing specialized graduate education,” said William Norton, associate dean of the Lee College and head of the School of Public Service. “Students will be able to help root out fraud and quantify damages. Unfortunately, these crimes are growing, and investigators are in demand.”

Undercover Colors detects date rape drugs

You can’t control what your daughter does when away at college. One night she may be out with her friends and a handsome young man sends a drink over to her table.

Their eyes meet, she twirls her hair with one hand while swirling her drink with her finger and immediately she will know if Prince Charming is a gentleman or a predator.

Renowned Forensic Scientist Dr. Henry Lee shared THIS LINK on his Facebook page that females of all ages should find very interesting.

It explains how a new nail polish can detect date rape drugs.
