Police Blotter Logo thx DavePatrol officers stopped a car on the Boston Post Road, July 15 at 12:21 a.m., after observing it going the wrong way into a one-way entrance of a local business.

Officers administered a standardized roadside sobriety tests on the driver, Gustavo Lopez, 26, of 163 Spring St., West Haven.

Lopez was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI) and failure to maintain a proper lane.

He was released on $250 bond for court July 28.

Officers investigated a motor vehicle accident on Cross Court (off of Narrow Lane) that originated on Route One on June 26 at 5:44 p.m. 

During the investigation, officers spoke with Charles Bradley, (no age given) 620 Harborview Road, who was one of the involved drivers and learned that he was in possession of a small quantity of marijuana and a variety of pills.

Officers had Bradley perform standardized roadside sobriety tests. He was subsequently taken into custody and charged with driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol (DUI), possession of marijuana, failure to keep pills in an original container and failure to drive right.

Bradley was released after posting $50 bond for court July 10.

Patrol officers reportedly observed a vehicle traveling northbound on South Lambert Road in a clearly marked right-hand turn only lane on May 29 at 4:22 p.m.

According to the report Michael Haiday, 45, of 162 Bear Hill Road, Bethany, was driving erratically prior to being stopped.

Following the investigation, Haiday was taken into custody and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI) and failure to obey a state traffic control sign.

Haiday was released on $50 bond for court June 12.

 

Criminal Trespass

Police were dispatched to the Target store, 25 Boston Post Road, on a complaint of a person refusing to leave the store, May 26 at 5:04 p.m.

Officers said  Azanda Sonders, 47, of 52 Howe St, Apt 213, New Haven, had been instructed to leave several times, but refused.

According to the report, Sonders was uncooperative and was taken into custody and charged with first-degree criminal trespass.

He was released on a promise to appear in court June 9.

Patrol officers saw a vehicle traveling at about 10 mph while within its lane on the Boston Post Road at 1:19 a.m. on May 15.

Officers stopped the vehicle and administered standardized roadside sobriety tests on the driver, Anthony Barrios, 28, of 55 Hallock Street, New Haven.

Barrios was subsequently taken into custody and charged with driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol and traveling at a slow speed.

He was released after posting $50 bond for court June 2.

Officers were dispatched to a complaint of a motor vehicle accident on Route 34 Westbound, where one of the drivers attempted to evade the scene at 12:28 a.m. on April 25.

During the investigation, police learned that Scarlet Iff, 43, of 473 Sportsman Road, Orange, had been driving a vehicle that struck another at the intersection of Routes 34 and Orange Center Road, then drove away.

Officers caught up to the evading vehicle a short distance away, and had the Iff perform standardized roadside sobriety tests. She was subsequently taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI), evading the scene of an accident and following too closely.

She was released after posting $1,500 bond for court May 12.

On April 6 at 2:09 a.m., patrol officers reportedly observed a vehicle make a turn on the Boston Post Road which resulted in the vehicle driving in the oncoming lanes.

Police stopped the vehicle and had the driver, Walter Guaman, 38, of 1323 Whalley Ave., New Haven, perform standardized roadside sobriety tests.

He was subsequently taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, drinking while driving and making an unsafe lane change.

Guaman was released after posting $50 bond. He is to be in court April 14.

Upon stopping the vehicle, officers administered standardized roadside sobriety tests on the driver, Joseph Saunders, 25, of 15 Ells St., Ansonia. 

He was subsequently taken into custody and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI) and failure to drive in a proper lane. 

SSaunders was released after posting $50 bond, for court April 14.

Officers responded to the scene of a one-car accident on the Boston Post Road March 7 at 1:32 a.m.

During the investigation, police administered standardized roadside sobriety tests on the driver, Piotr Kaczmarczyk, 23, of 24 Woodmere Road, Newington.

He was subsequently taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI).

Kaczmarczyk was released after posting $50 bond for court March 21.

Orange Police officers patrolling the Boston Post Road reportedly observed a vehicle driving erratically  in the eastbound direction at 12:52 a.m. on March 14.

According to the report, the officers stopped the car and administered standardized roadside sobriety tests on the driver, Treasure Jackson-Falu, 26, of 148 Valley St, New Haven.

She was subsequently taken into custody and charged with Driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI), driving an unregistered motor vehicle, traveling too fast and failure to drive in a proper lane. 

She was released after posting $50 cash bond, for court March 28

Officers on routine patrol reportedly observed a vehicle driving erratically on the Boston Post Road (eastbound) on March 7 at 1:02 a.m.

Upon stopping the vehicle, officers administered standardized roadside sobriety tests on Robert Bell, 35, of 387 New Hall Street, New Haven.

He was subsequently taken into custody and charged with driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol and failure to drive in a proper lane.

Bell was released after posting $100 bond for court March 21.
