Officers reportedly observed a man driving erratically, including disregarding a stop sign on Derby Avenue on Sept. 6 at 11:24 p.m.

Upon stopping the vehicle, police administered standardized roadside sobriety tests on Richard Papa, 54, of 343 Saybrook Road, Orange.

He was subsequently taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI), failure to obey a stop sign, failure to stay in a proper lane.

Officers were dispatched to the parking lot of the Taco Bell, 89 Boston Post Road, for a possible medical emergency on Sept. 4 at 12:09 a.m.

Upon arrival, they found Timothy Craven, 28, of 430 Meloy Road Apt A-1, West Haven, asleep at the wheel of his vehicle, which was parked straddling multiple parking spaces.

Officers woke up Craven and administered standardized roadside sobriety tests. He was subsequently taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI) and illegal possession of prescription drugs.

Craven was released after posting $500 bond for court Sept. 18.

orange police duiPolice on patrol on Derby Avenue came upon a vehicle sitting stationary in the westbound lane of Route 34 on Aug. 14 at 1:44 a.m.

When officers approached the vehicle they noticed it was in gear and the driver, Thomas LaBlanc, 40, of 56 Saint Joseph Street #421, of Fall River, MA, seemed to be asleep.

Upon waking him, officers administered standardized roadside sobriety tests

LaBlanc was subsequently taken into custody and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI).

He was released after posting $100 bond for court Aug. 28.

BEST-POLICE-Patch-EVER-275x300Patrol officers reportedly observed a car without a tail light lit on the Boston Post Road Aug. 17 at 1:56 a.m.

Police stopped the car, and administered standardized roadside sobriety tests to Cecil Barnes-Dixon, 29, of 135 Tesiny Circle, Bridgeport

He was taken into custody and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI) and failure to have tail lamps.

He was released after posting $50 bond for court Sept. 2.

Patrol Officers reportedly observed a vehicle driving erratically on Lambert Road, weaving within the traffic lane on Aug. 3 at 12:11 a.m.

Upon stopping the vehicle, administered standardized roadside sobriety tests on the driver, Veronica Decicco, 44, of 18 Great Meadow Dr, Milford.

Decicco was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI), driving with a suspended license, and failure to maintain a proper lane.

She was released after posting $50 bond, for court Aug. 18.

Possession of Marijuana

Police responded to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of the Trader Joe’s store, 560 Boston Post Road, after closing on July 31 at 10:39 p.m.

Investigation revealed that a 21-year-old West Haven man was in possession of a small amount of marijuana  (less than 1/2 ounce).

He was cited with an infraction ticket for his actions.

On Aug. 2, patrol officers reportedly saw a vehicle drive through a red light on the Boston Post Road around 1:10 a.m.

Officers stopped the car and administered standardized roadside sobriety tests on Jose Pallo, 59, of 75 Smith St., Apt. 1, West Haven.

Pallo was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI) and failure to obey a traffic control signal.

He was released after posting $50 bond for court Aug. 18.

While on patrol on Derby Avenue, officers reportedly observed a vehicle pass them in the Westbound lanes while driving on a rim with no tire, July 28 at 1:28 a.m.

Upon stopping the vehicle, police administered standardized roadside sobriety tests on the driver, Jose Hernandez, 20, of 19 Summit St., #2, Waterbury.

Hernandez was subsequently taken into custody and charged with Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, reckless driving, driving and with a suspended license.

He was released after posting $250 bond for court Aug. 11.

Police Blotter Logo thx DavePatrol officers stopped a car on the Boston Post Road, July 15 at 12:21 a.m., after observing it going the wrong way into a one-way entrance of a local business.

Officers administered a standardized roadside sobriety tests on the driver, Gustavo Lopez, 26, of 163 Spring St., West Haven.

Lopez was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI) and failure to maintain a proper lane.

He was released on $250 bond for court July 28.

Officers investigated a motor vehicle accident on Cross Court (off of Narrow Lane) that originated on Route One on June 26 at 5:44 p.m. 

During the investigation, officers spoke with Charles Bradley, (no age given) 620 Harborview Road, who was one of the involved drivers and learned that he was in possession of a small quantity of marijuana and a variety of pills.

Officers had Bradley perform standardized roadside sobriety tests. He was subsequently taken into custody and charged with driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol (DUI), possession of marijuana, failure to keep pills in an original container and failure to drive right.

Bradley was released after posting $50 bond for court July 10.

Patrol officers reportedly observed a vehicle traveling northbound on South Lambert Road in a clearly marked right-hand turn only lane on May 29 at 4:22 p.m.

According to the report Michael Haiday, 45, of 162 Bear Hill Road, Bethany, was driving erratically prior to being stopped.

Following the investigation, Haiday was taken into custody and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI) and failure to obey a state traffic control sign.

Haiday was released on $50 bond for court June 12.

 

Criminal Trespass

Police were dispatched to the Target store, 25 Boston Post Road, on a complaint of a person refusing to leave the store, May 26 at 5:04 p.m.

Officers said  Azanda Sonders, 47, of 52 Howe St, Apt 213, New Haven, had been instructed to leave several times, but refused.

According to the report, Sonders was uncooperative and was taken into custody and charged with first-degree criminal trespass.

He was released on a promise to appear in court June 9.
