On April 6 at 2:09 a.m., patrol officers reportedly observed a vehicle make a turn on the Boston Post Road which resulted in the vehicle driving in the oncoming lanes.

Police stopped the vehicle and had the driver, Walter Guaman, 38, of 1323 Whalley Ave., New Haven, perform standardized roadside sobriety tests.

He was subsequently taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, drinking while driving and making an unsafe lane change.

Guaman was released after posting $50 bond. He is to be in court April 14.

orange police duiPatrol officers reportedly observed a vehicle driving erratically on Route 34 westbound at 11:39 p.m. March 28.

Upon stopping the vehicle, officers administered standardized roadside sobriety tests on the driver, Joseph Saunders, 25, of 15 Ells St., Ansonia. 

He was subsequently taken into custody and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI) and failure to drive in a proper lane. 

SSaunders was released after posting $50 bond, for court April 14.

Officers responded to the scene of a one-car accident on the Boston Post Road March 7 at 1:32 a.m.

During the investigation, police administered standardized roadside sobriety tests on the driver, Piotr Kaczmarczyk, 23, of 24 Woodmere Road, Newington.

He was subsequently taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI).

Kaczmarczyk was released after posting $50 bond for court March 21.

Orange Police officers patrolling the Boston Post Road reportedly observed a vehicle driving erratically  in the eastbound direction at 12:52 a.m. on March 14.

According to the report, the officers stopped the car and administered standardized roadside sobriety tests on the driver, Treasure Jackson-Falu, 26, of 148 Valley St, New Haven.

She was subsequently taken into custody and charged with Driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI), driving an unregistered motor vehicle, traveling too fast and failure to drive in a proper lane. 

She was released after posting $50 cash bond, for court March 28

Officers on routine patrol reportedly observed a vehicle driving erratically on the Boston Post Road (eastbound) on March 7 at 1:02 a.m.

Upon stopping the vehicle, officers administered standardized roadside sobriety tests on Robert Bell, 35, of 387 New Hall Street, New Haven.

He was subsequently taken into custody and charged with driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol and failure to drive in a proper lane.

Bell was released after posting $100 bond for court March 21.

police carOrange Patrol officers observed a vehicle driving partially in the oncoming lane on the Boston Post Road at 1:09 a.m. Jan. 26.

Police stopped the car driven by Amilcar Sanabria, 43, of 80 Haven St, New Haven, and administered standardized roadside sobriety tests.

Sanabria was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol (DUI), driving with a suspended license and failure to drive in an established lane. 

He was released after posting $50 bond for court Feb. 10.

Officers on radar patrol on Marsh Hill Road clocked a vehicle traveling at 61 mph in a 30 mph zone Dec. 8 at 1:08 a.m.

After stopping the car, officers administered roadside sobriety tests on the driver, Antonio Fernandez, 24, of 240 Rimmon Road, Woodbridge.

Fernandez was taken into custody and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI) and speeding.

He was released after posting $60 bond for court Dec. 23.

Officers responded to the scene of a one-car accident in front of the Taco Bell restaurant on the Boston Post Road Nov. 30 at 6:11 p.m.

According to the report, the driver, Shamont Payne, 41, of 84 Cherry Ann St., New Haven, ran down several mailboxes of area businesses.

During the investigation, officers interviewed Payne, who reportedly admitted to drinking and using drugs earlier in the evening.

He was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI), possession of a hallucinogenic substance, failure to drive in a proper lane and failure to maintain insurance.

Payne was released after posting $400 for court Dec. 16.

 

Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia

Patrol officers stopped at the Valero Gas Station, 347 Boston Post Road on Nov. 29 at 11:04 p.m. after observing the driver, a 22-year-old Orange resident, lighting and inhaling something from a glass pipe.

During the investigation, officers talked to the driver and learned he was smoking marijuana.

Police seized the pipe and drugs, charged him with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of less than 1/2 ounce of marijuana.

The man was issued an infraction ticket for his actions.

police carOn Sept. 18, officers patrolling Route 34 reportedly observed a vehicle weaving within its lane on the eastbound direction around 1:09 a.m.

Upon stopping the vehicle, officers administered standardized roadside sobriety tests on the driver, James Coubrough, 30, of 164 Daytona St. #3, West Haven.

After which Coubrough was taken into custody and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI), possession of marijuana and failure to drive in a proper lane. 

He was released after posting $50 bond for court Oct. 2.

orange police duiOfficers patrolling Route 34 on Sept. 9 reportedly saw a man driving erratically, nearly striking the side guardrail on numerous occasions around 2:20 a.m.

Police stopped the  car and administered roadside sobriety tests on the driver, Sergio Aldana-Avila, 34, of 61 Church St, Ansonia.

Aldana-Avila was subsequently taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI), failure to maintain a proper lane and driving with a suspended license.

He was released after posting $100 bond for court Sept. 23.
