I’ve known Russell Arpaia and his wife Lisa for about 17 years. One couldn’t ask to meet two nicer people.

When I was working at the Amity Observer I locked my keys in my car in Woodbridge after an event. Without any hesitation, Russ and Lisa offered to drive me to my house 15 miles away so I could retrieve an extra set and then brought me back to my car and waited until they knew I was ok and set to go.

Six years ago, when the recession was hurting many businesses, Russ started his own business.

Although Connecticut is Hummel Hot Dog territory, Russ discovered the Sabrett brand that is popular in New York.

He started off small, and moved his way up to the big beautiful custom built Firedog truck that we see around now.

Firedog will be at the concert and fireworks tonight serving up specialties like pulled pork, sausage and peppers, a large variety of hotdogs and burgers.

The Arpaias also offer catering services and party packages. They do the cooking and clean up so you can enjoy your party or event.

Check out the website at http://firedogct.com/ for all the information you’ll need on Firedog.

Stop by and talk to Russ tonight.
