This holiday season, visit Fright Haven in Stratford for a haunted house event like no other: “FRIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS.”

For three nights only this month Saturday, December 15, Friday, December 21 and Saturday, December 22, visitors to CT’s largest and greatest indoor Halloween Haunted House will experience brand new holiday attractions, all decked out for the holidays and ready to make guests scream ’til the New Year.

The start of the scares begins with “Dead End Doctors Office: No Home for the Holidays,” a horrific look into one not-so picture perfect pre-Christmas doctors office visit. Ornaments are smashed, stockings are torn…and is that blood on the dentist’s chair? Who…or what…could have done this? When did the “sleigh ride” turn into a medical “slay-ride?!”

Next, take a tour of Santa’s infamous toy workshop in “The Forest Factory.” Don’t expect to find any happy elves, however — they’ve been overworked this season, and Santa’s demanding schedule has caused them all to lose their minds and lose their way to the North Pole.  Will guests survive this terrifying tour and escape the angry elves and rejected toys that have seemingly come to life? Or will visitors become just another piece on the assembly line?

Guests will marvel at the vintage Christmas sets, decor, props and figurines which are used for the production. Combine the visuals with special effects, animatronics and live actors, and you have some clue as to what to expect at   “FRIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS.” But it’s hard to expect the unexpected, and there are scares around every corner at this haunted holiday show.

The limited-run of 3 weekend nights this month is expected to draw an equal number of return visitors who experienced Fright Haven during the Halloween season, and those who didn’t yet get a chance to enjoy the fun and fear of the 20,000 square foot indoor attraction.

Fright Haven’s “FRIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS” received rave reviews in the past, and producers have promised to amp up the ho-ho-horrors. Chestnuts may not be the only thing roasting on an open fire! Chestnuts may not be the only thing roasting on an open fire.

Fright Haven is located in the Stratford Square/Marshall’s Shopping Plaza, 411 Barnum Avenue Cutoff, next to L.A. Fitness and Ninety Nine Restaurant (across from Home Depot). Parking is free, and all events are indoors. Hours are 7pm-10pm. The event is open to all ages but recommended for 12 and over unless accompanied by an adult.

Advance tickets are $20 each ($ 25 door or $20 at door with non-perishable food donation) and now on sale from https://frighthaven.ticketleap.com/frightmare2018/.  Using the code word “CLAWS” (as in Santa ‘Claws’) at check-out will enable visitors to save $5 off each ticket purchased in advance.

Fright Haven is working with Stratford’s Volunteer EMS to raise funds, collect food items and raise awareness for Sterling House. Visitors to the holiday Haunted Attraction may take $5 off on-site admission or $5 off merch by bringing a non-perishable food donation. Stratford volunteer EMS Association will be on location collecting donations on behalf of Sterling House. All donations impact the local community.

Orange Resident Presents Non-Scary Family Fun Day At Fright Haven

Dec 102017

The state’s largest and scariest haunted attraction, Fright Haven, will be a lot less scary on Saturday, December 16. On this day, from 1-2:30 p.m., there will be a very special Winter Wonderland “Lights On” Family Fun Day matinee, designed especially for youngsters.
Owner/operator Charles F. Rosenay, of Orange, will personally escort families and young ones through the indoor maze, completely renovated and decorated for the Christmas season.
Fright Haven, at 411 Barnum Avenue Cutoff in Stratford Square Shopping Plaza (the former Bally’s Fitness/Showcase Cinemas building — next to L.A. Fitness and Ninety Nine Restaurant across from Home Depot), is made up of three entirely different themed Halloween haunted houses encompassing more than 20,000 square feet, all under one roof.
In December, it has gone through a complete transformation into a Holiday attraction, “A Frightmare Before Christmas.” The scares come in the evening, though.
Whereas Fright Haven is a world-class haunted extravaganza meant to chill and thrill, on these kid-friendly matinees, all the lights will be turned on, the scary music will be turned off, and the actors will not jump out in masks and make-up. The all-ages appropriate atmosphere will be more carnival and less evil.
In fact, it also will be educational, wherein the “scaremasters” will reveal all the hidden secrets to what scares visitors, and what actors are taught to startle the guests during normal evening hours, when the attraction is far more chilling. The all-ages walk-through will be conducted by Charles Rosenay and his 11 and 12-year-old sons, Ian and Harrison. There also will be Christmas favors and an array of ornaments available.
Fright Haven is completely indoors and parking is free. The seasonal attraction benefited Stratford PAL (Police Activities League) in the past and has served as a fund-raiser for several area schools and non-profits. This family holiday event is in support of the Connecticut Food Bank.

Admission to the Winter Wonderland is only $20 in advance or at the door for adults; children only $10. There is a special promotion for friends from Orange: bring a non-perishable food item for a free children’s admission.

Advance tickets are available, along with further information, at www.FrightHaven.com. Group discounts are available by phone at (203) 795-4737, which also is the haunt’s info line.
