The Orange Volunteer Firemen’s Carnival will be held again this year beginning on Thursday, August 3 through Sunday, August 6.

Help is again gratefully accepted and very much needed in the main food tent.

High school students looking for community service hours are also invited.

If you are interested in giving of your time for a few hours, especially on Saturday, beginning at 11 a.m. for the day shift, or the evening time, beginning at 4 p.m.

Help is also needed on Sunday, beginning at noontime. The carnival does not go into the evening on Sunday.

We will also need some assistance on Thursday and on Friday beginning at 4:30 p.m.

If your company would like to volunteer together, as a group that would be great and very much appreciated.

Coldwell Banker-Orange volunteers on Thursday night. Real Living-Wareck D’Ostilio is putting together volunteers for Friday evening

Please remember that aside from having a good time pitching in with your neighbors and friends to help, the volunteer fire department also helps keep our town taxes lower.

The carnival is held rain or shine unless it’s called off due to dangerous weather.

Nighttime fun at the Orange Firemen's Carnival

Nighttime fun at the Orange Firemen’s Carnival

The highly anticipated annual family event of the year begins tonight at 5 p.m.

The Orange Volunteer Firemen’s Carnival is set up and ready to roll at the Orange Fairgrounds, 525 Orange Center Road with about 20 thrilling rides from Rockwell Amusements for children and adults alike.

Parking and Admission are FREE

If you purchased ride wristbands online, go to the rear of the Raffle Tent (located across from the main food pavilion). Remember to bring your ID when you pick them up.

The carnival runs from 5 to 11 p.m. on Thursday.

There are many rides, games, and food options at the carnival, and everyone has their favorite, but did you know that the Fire Department only benefits from the proceeds at the games and food that they run?

The games are the Frog Bog, Dunk Tank, High Striker, Speedball and Blower ball – the little game of chance next to the raffle tent. The 50/50 raffle benefits both the civilian winner and the fire department, who split the pot a couple of times a day.

The main food tent (under the pavilion) and the satellite food tent straight up the aisle next to the fence on Orange Center Road also are Fire Department run.

Of course, you can’t beat $5 for a raffle ticket for a chance to win one of 11 great prizes, including a $7,000 Visa Gift Card, $4,000 Gift Card, $2,500 Gift Certificate – Anytime Fitness, $2,000 Visa Gift Card, $1,200 Gift Certificate – Diamond Designs, Apple iPad Air 2, 16GB, Best Buy, $350 Gift Card – Chip’s Family Restaurant, $300 Gift Card – Trader Joe’s, $250 Gift Card – Knights, Inc., $200 Gift Card – Ben’s Service Center, Gift Certificate to Yale New Haven Open at Yale Tennis Tournament.
