Fall Film: Book Club
Monday, October 15, 7 p.m.
Wednesday, October 17, 1 p.m.

Four lifelong friends have their lives forever changed after reading 50 Shades of Grey in their monthly book club. PG-13. 1 hr. 44 min.

I Spy Fun
Thursday, October 18, 5:30 p.m.
For children ages 6-8.  “I spy with my little eye…” Hone your observation skills as you complete “I Spy”-themed challenges!  Conquer a scavenger hunt with a twist and make a fun craft to take home.  Registration is required.  Click below, call the Library, or stop by the Children’s Room to reserve your space!

Boo Bubbles
Saturday, October 20, 11 a.m.
To get in the holiday spirit, the library is running a Boo Bubbles program. Tweens will learn about these bouncing smoke bubbles and will be given an opportunity to hold and play with them. Please note that dry ice will be used during this program. Please bring your own pair of knitted gloves similar to the ones in the picture. For tweens grades 4-6. Teen Craft: Pumpkin Decorating
Saturday, October 20, 1 p.m.
Create a pumpkin masterpiece! Pumpkins and decorating supplies will be provided. Bring a box to carry home your pumpkin. For students in grades 7-12.

Jazz Concert: Songs from Classic American Films
Saturday, October 20, 2 p.m.
A jazz concert by the Jim Clark Quartet, who will perform memorable songs from some of the most beloved (and some more obscure) American films. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library. 

Adult Make & Take Workshop: Gemstone Soaps
Monday, October 22, 7 p.m.
Create your own gemstone soaps scented with essential oils at this small hands-on workshop. Led by Librarian Rebecca Harlow. All supplies will be provided. For adults and teens ages 16 and up. Space is limited. Registration is required.

Computers for Beginners
Tuesday, October 23, 10:30 a.m.
Are you a new computer user with little experience using a keyboard and mouse? If so, come to this class and learn how to left-click, right-click and use basic command keys. Laptops will be provided to registrants for use during this class. Space is limited. Registration is required.

Discovery Museum: Crime Lab
Thursday, October 25, 5:30 p.m.
For children in grades 4-8.  Ready to dive into some CSI-style science?  Observe the scene of a theft and learn about three suspects before testing evidence in this fun and engaging stations-based lab.  Learn what forensics is, discover different types of evidence, and question motive and means.  After building and discussing our case, we’ll present evidence.  Registration is required.  Please note: any cancellations or changes in registration status MUST be made by Tuesday, October 23 at 4:30 p.m.

The Bookcase Evening Book Discussion Group
Thursday, October 25, 7 p.m.
Join The Bookcase leader Toby Zabinski for a discussion of Frankenstein by Mary Shelley.

Big Pumpkin
Saturday, October 27, 2 p.m.
For children ages 5-10.  Hear and re-enact the tale of the Big Pumpkin, then complete a fun art activity!  This drama workshop is generously funded by a grant from the Orange Foundation Trust U/A, Bank of America, N.A., Trustee.  Registration is required.  Click below, call the Library, or stop by the Children’s Room to reserve your spot!

Owl Pellet Dissection
Wednesday, October 10, 3:30 p.m.
Did you know that owls can’t chew their food? Children will learn about owls and how they eat and digest their food, and with this knowledge, they will dissect an owl pellet to see what animal bones they can find. Children ages 7-9. Ozobot Bowling Challenge
Thursday, October 11, 6 p.m.

Family Move & Groove
Saturday, October 13, 11 a.m.
For children ages 3-5 and their caregivers (infants, young toddlers and older siblings are welcome, too).  Shake, clap, stomp, play, and sing at this brand new series for little ones and caregivers!  Children will learn about following directions, rhyme and rhythm, and creative play through music and movement. Please wear comfortable clothing to allow freedom of movement. Registration is required.
