The Lady Spartans Lacrosse team hosted the Mustangs from Fairfield Warde on Tuesday in Woodbridge.

Amity has not had the most stellar season, going into this game with three losses behind them (Southington 8-13, Shelton 2-14 and Hand 2-14).

The mustangs charged onto the field, winning most of the face-offs and effortlessly scored the first goal in less than 30 seconds, and the first six goals in 4 minutes and 15 seconds.

Goal number 7 flew into the net at 17:51. Warde really had to work for the next goal which came nearly five minutes later with 12:03 remaining in the first period.

And so it continued. The final score was 15-1, Warde.

Records: Amity 0-4, Warde 4-1

The season is young and the Lady Spartans have time to regroup and pull themselves together. We wish them luck.

IMG_8858The Lady Spartans Lacrosse team hosted Southington in Woodbridge on Wednesday.

Amity had a 5-1 lead in the first half, but Southington fought hard in the second half, racking up 8 points, still it wasn’t enough to take the game.

The Lady Spartans edged Southington for a 10-9 victory.

Amity’s players:

Taylor Walsh 4 goals and 2 assists; Isabella Crane made 3 goals; Kendra Osinski had 1 goal; Eliza Crane and Cassie Bishop both made 1 goal and 2 assists; Isabella Ferrara had 2 assists and Mikayla Leibowitz had 1 assist.

Southington’s players:

Morgan Raymon made 3 goals; Anna Caove and Jess Karwowski each made 2 goals; Sydney Brault and Sarah Mitale each made 1 goal; Hailie Altweis and Addie Kigore each had 1 assist.

Amity’s goaltender Jena Casman and Southington’s Julia Wells each had 15 saves.

Amity outshot Southington 29-24.

IMG_8882The Amity Girls Lacrosse Team hosted Hamden in Woodbridge on Wednesday.

The Lady Spartans, now 2-2 for the season played hard and whipped their opponents 15-4.

Amity     10  5 — 15
Hamden  4  0 — 4

Amity outshot Hamden 25-12.

The Lady Spartans were on fire, with Isabella Crane taking the lead with 4 goals and 1 assist; Tori Ramos andIsabella Ferrara made 3 goals each; Kendra Osinski made 2 goals; Julia Tomei had 1; Eliza Crane and Cassie Bishop each had 1 goal and 1 assist.

On Hamden’s side, Reagan Wildman; Allie Wuerth; Jade Taylor; and Olivia Santini each made 1 goal.

 

Goal Keepers Jena Casman made 6 saves and Jenna Saleh made 4 saves for Amity; Kiki O’Connor made 6 saves for Hamden.

IMG_8938The Lady Spartans Varsity Lacrosse Team hosted  Sheehan in Woodbridge on April 21.

Amity crushed their opponents 13-2. The Lady Spartans were in it to win it from the onset, going into the half with a score of 7-2 and came on strong in the second half with 6 more points while Sheehan could not find the net.

Amity outshot Sheehan  25-16. Goaltender Jena Casman made 14 saves for Amity.

We did not receive any information regarding Sheehan’s goals, assists or saves, but here is how Amity scored.

Sarah Turner was the high scorer for the game with 3 goals and 2 assists; Caroline Torro and Eleanor Henn each made 2 goals; Isabella Ferraro, 1 goal, 1 assist; Alysse Dellatore, Kira Saunders and Liz Marino each scored 1 goal. Murphy Deane and Haley Saracin each had 1 assist.
