Kenneth Arthur Larson, 90, of Wallingford, husband of the late June Larson, passed away on August 20, 2012.
He was born in New Haven on December 18, 1921 to the late Oscar and Emelia Johnson Larson who were Swedish immigrants.
Kenneth leaves his three children, Elise Gordon and her husband Jeffrey of Wethersfield, Ken Larson, Jr. of Hamden, and Dr. Matthew Larson of Milton, MA and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by seven siblings, Eric, Paul and Elmer Larson, Edith Grandstrand, Lillie Johnson, Ethel Lind, and Irene Glatfelter.
Kenneth grew up in New Haven before joining the U.S. Army during WWII as a topographic engineer.
After the war, he joined the family business where he worked as a carpenter for the rest of his career.
Kenneth and June raised their family in Orange before moving to Southington and most recently living at Ashlar Village in Wallingford. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed a good game of golf or went bowling. For many years he was also a Deacon at the Congregational Church in Orange. Trips to Cape Cod were cherished and he enjoyed Florida in the winter.
Friends are invited to visit with his family at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, on Wednesday, Aug. 29 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
A Memorial Service will be held in the future.
