The 2018 Orange Volunteer Firemen’s Carnival is ready for visitors.

The town fire marshal and state authorities were on the fairgrounds this afternoon inspecting all the rides to make sure they run properly and are safe for this weekend’s event.

Carnival Chairman Donny Foyer said the rides have passed and the firefighters and vendors are ready.

So, even if there is some rainfall tonight, you can skip cooking dinner and eat at the carnival, the firefighters will be manning the grills rain or shine.

Remember, parking and admission are free and raffle tickets for 11 great prizes (top prize is a $7,000 Visa Gift Card) are only $5 each!

Listen for the announcements for the 50/50 raffle drawings all weekend long.

The Orange Volunteer Firemen’s Carnival will be held again this year beginning on Thursday, August 1  through Sunday, August  4.

Help is again gratefully accepted and still needed in the main food tent.

If you are interested in giving of your time for a few hours, especially on Saturday, beginning at 11 a.m. for the day shift, or the evening time, beginning at 4 p.m.

Help is also needed on Sunday, beginning at noontime. The carnival does not go into the evening on Sunday.

We will also need some assistance on Thursday and on Friday beginning at 4:30 p.m.

If your company would like to volunteer together, as a group, that would be great and very much appreciated.

Coldwell Banker-Orange volunteers on Thursday night and Weichert Realtors Orange comes in on Friday night.

Please remember that aside from having a good time pitching in with your neighbors and friends to help, the volunteer fire  department also helps keep our town taxes lower.
