Screen Shot 2014-09-08 at 9.41.40 PMThe Orange Republican Town Committee along with the Milford and West Haven Republican Town Committees will sponsor a “Tri-City Meet the Candidates” Fund Raiser/Cook-out on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Fowler Field, 1 Shipyard Lane in Milford.

Special guest speaker will be former Governor Jodi Rell.

The late afternoon meal features hamburgers, hot dogs, salads, water and soda which will be provided by Lasse’s Restaurant. A DJ, games for the kids and a raffle will make for a fun-filled afternoon.

Tickets are $20 per person and children 12 and under are free. It’s also a BYOB.

Invited Candidates include, Tom Foley (Candidate for Governor), Heather Somers (Candidate for Lt. Governor), James Brown (Candidate for Congress), Kie Westby (Candidate for Attorney General), Tim Herbst (Candidate for Treasurer), Themis Klarides (114th State Rep.), Pam Staneski (Candidate for 119th), Charles Ferraro (Candidate for 117th), Matt Gaynor (Candidate for State Senator) plus many more.

Debate PosterThe Orange Chamber of commerce will host its annual candidate Forum and First Selectman’s Debate at Grassy Hill Country Club, 441 Clark Lane, Tuesday, Oct. 22 from 7-9:30 p.m.

Tickets are $10. Call the Chamber for reservations at 203-795-3328.

Meet the Democratic, Republican and Independent under-ticket candidates for the Orange Municipal Election.

Incumbent Republican First Selectman James Zeoli will debate Democratic challenger Ken Lenz.

First on tap Kim Leventhal Syrop and Jen Alfaro are hosting a campaign fundraising party on Saturday, Sept 21, at 7 p.m. Donation is $50 a head. The Democratic Election Headquarters Opening Reception will take place at 116 Boston Post Rd. (David’s Bridal Plaza) Monday, Sept. 23, at 7 p.m.

The Annual Reception for the Candidates will take place at Grassy Hill Lodge, 77 Sodom Lane, Derby, on Sunday, Oct. 6, 5 to 7 p.m.  Invited guests include US Senators Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy, Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro, Governor Dannel Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman.

The Orange Democrats, today released information about their Meet The Candidates Picnic that takes place Thursday night at High Plains Community Center from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

Menu includes hot dogs, hamburgers and beer and all the “fixins.”
