A fundraiser to benefit the Amity High School Football Program will take place at the Orange Ale House, 517 Boston Post Road, on Saturday, April 18 beginning at 6 p.m.

Ticket cost is $25 and includes a buffet style meal and drink ticket.

Raffle prizes will be awarded to lucky participants.

All proceeds go to the Spartans Football program.

In 2015, the Amity Football Team will be under the leadership of new head coach, 29-year-old Amity Grad Ted Czepiga of Bethany.

Amity LAX in Action against Notre Dame.

The Amity Varsity Lacrosse Team took on Notre Dame of West Haven in West Haven on Wednesday night and made their new coach, Brandon Pepe proud.

The Spartans started the game with four goals in the first quarter to Notre Dame’s one, giving fans a taste of what this team is capable of.

The second quarter, Amity scored two goals, to ND’s one bringing the score to 6-2; third quarter Amity scored again, then in the fourth, Amity was ahead 7-2 until Notre Dame scored with just 23 seconds left in the game.

Scoring for Amity were Jake Milner with 3; David Buono, Joe Choiniere, Ajay King, Matt Milner and Tyler Burns, each with 1. King and Matt Milner each also had 2 assists.

Alex Hassen scored 2 goals for Notre Dame and Ryan McGuinness had 1. Joe Palmieri is credited with 1 assist.

Notre Dame outshot Amity 19-15, but with Sophomore goalie Evan Campbell who stood in for Junior goalie James Chapman, making 16 saves, they didn’t stand a chance.
