Get a flu shot, not the flu.

The Orange Visiting Nurse Association will host a Community Flu Vaccine Clinic High Plains Community Center, 525 Orange Center Road on Thursday, Nov. 7, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

No appointments are necessary, bring your insurance card, and try to wear short sleeves.

Accepted Insurances: Traditional Medicare, Aetna, and Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Shield.

Insurances NOT accepted: Cigna, Connecticare, Oxford, United Healthcare and Medicaid.

Private Pay rates are available for uninsured attendees.

Light The Night Fundraiser at Orange Ale House attracts a supportive crowd.

Karen and Mike Iassogna greeted guests at the door of the Ale House Dining Room Thursday night since 4 p.m.

Raffle baskets lined the front table and guests enjoyed an endless buffet and their first glass of wine or beer.

All proceeds from the Light The Night Fundraiser go to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Potential for a Nor’easter Wednesday afternoon into Thursday Night

Latest GFS: 12Z 11/4: Impact late Wednesday afternoon into Thursday night. Worst weather Wednesday Night during the overnight hours. Sustained winds 30-40 mph and Gusts 50+. Coastal flooding (Nothing like Sandy) and Snow in NW hills possibly up to an inch.

Latest ECMWF: 12Z 11/4: Impact Late Wednesday Afternoon into Friday Afternoon. Worst weather late Wednesday night into early Thursday morning. Sustained winds 35-45 mph and gusts 55+. Coastal flooding (Nothing like Sandy) and Snow in the NW hills. Maybe slight mix overnight inland but Coast will be rain as of right now!
