Business Picking Up At The Orange Farmers’ Market

IMG_3380The Orange Farmers’ Market is now in its second week and obviously growing in popularity.

The Pavilion saw a couple more vendors selling their farm fresh products, including the Dream Come True Farm out of Oxford with natural infused oils. It was great having the couple there to point visitors in the direction of the right oil for what ails them.

Some of the vendors with nearby farms sent a partner off to pick up more items as they began to sell out. Six dozen fresh eggs arrived and were quickly sold to satisfied customers.

Julia’s Bakery brought a wide variety of delectable breads and dessert items.

Mary Ellen Holden, from Buttermilk Farm sold many bouquets of fresh cut flowers and potted plants. She also had  jars of honey from a CT beekeeper/family friend in two sizes that proved popular.

Next week, Zuppardi’s Pizza Truck will be on hand during regular Market hours and most likely will be a fixture at the event until the last one on Oct. 29.

It may be hot and humid out now, but, when you browse by and look at the knitted wool items at the Mapleview Farm table, remember that fall, winter and the holidays aren’t that far off and you can get some early Christmas shopping done in the same place where you buy your fresh squash and greens.

Stop by the Pavilion at High Plains every Thursday from 3:30 to 7 p.m. through Oct. 29.
