Orange police on patrol reportedly observed a car drifting in and out of its lane on Derby Avenue near Orange Center Road on July 5 at 1:48 a.m.

Officers stopped the vehicle and during the investigation determined that the driver, Sherone L Ndiaye, 32, New Haven, was driving under the influence.

Ndiaye was taken into custody and charged with DUI, failure to maintain a proper lane and possession of less than 5 ounces of marijuana.

He was released on a $50 non-surety bond for court July 19.

BEST-POLICE-Patch-EVER-275x300Officers conducting radar patrol on Derby Milford Road clocked a vehicle traveling at 46mph in a 30mph zoneon Nov. 17 at 4:49 p.m.

Upon stopping the vehicle, officers located small amounts of marijuana on both the driver and her passenger.

Both parties were cited for their actions.

The driver, a 27 year old Milford woman was cited for possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana, driving without a license and traveling unreasonably fast.

The passenger, a 26 year old Milford man was cited for possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana

 

Both were issued infraction tickets.

pot grinderOrange Police on routine patrol stopped a vehicle for speeding on Route 34 Eastbound at 5:47 on July 27.

Officers reportedly observed a marijuana grinder in the car and two cans of beer.

Further investigation led to the discovery of a small amount of marijuana.

The driver, 20, of  Derby was cited for his actions.

He was ticketed for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of alcohol by a minor.

police carOfficers conducting routine patrol at the Wepawaug Conservation Area observed a vehicle inside the park after it had closed on Jan. 15 at 6:54 p.m.

Upon stopping the vehicle, officers found the driver, 19-year-old, Dogburn Road resident, to be in possession of less than ½ ounce of marijuana.

The drugs were seized and he received an infraction ticket, citing possession of marijuana, for his actions.

Patrol Officers reportedly observed a vehicle driving erratically on Lambert Road, weaving within the traffic lane on Aug. 3 at 12:11 a.m.

Upon stopping the vehicle, administered standardized roadside sobriety tests on the driver, Veronica Decicco, 44, of 18 Great Meadow Dr, Milford.

Decicco was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI), driving with a suspended license, and failure to maintain a proper lane.

She was released after posting $50 bond, for court Aug. 18.

Possession of Marijuana

Police responded to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of the Trader Joe’s store, 560 Boston Post Road, after closing on July 31 at 10:39 p.m.

Investigation revealed that a 21-year-old West Haven man was in possession of a small amount of marijuana  (less than 1/2 ounce).

He was cited with an infraction ticket for his actions.

BEST-POLICE-Patch-EVER-275x300Orange Police were investigating an unrelated incident at Best Buy, 53 Boston Post Road on July 24 at 7:27 p.m. when officers learned that Marcellus Moyse, 30, or 33 Gold St. #409, New York, NY, was attempting to purchase $1,800 worth of electronics with fraudulent identification and a credit card in someone else’s name.

Moyse taken into custody and charged for the attempted purchase, but would not give officers his correct identification.

He was charged with third-degree identity theft, criminal impersonation, third-degree forgery, sixth-degree larceny, interfering with an officer, possession of less than 1/2 oz of marijuana, criminal attempt to commit fourth-degree larceny, first-degree criminal mischief and criminal attempt to escape custody.

 

Later, while in custody and police headquarters, Moyse reportedly damaged the door of the cell he was in as part of an unsuccessful attempt to escape.

He was moved to a different cell and held on $30,000 bond for a July 25 court arraignment

Orange narcotics K-9 Trent

Three Orange residents were cited on drug charges after the town’s new narcotics K-9, Trent and his partner Officer Mary Bernegger came across the trio on June 25 at 10:05 p.m.

Officer Bernegger was on patrol with Trent near Tucker’s Ridge  when she observed a vehicle parked at the entrance to the closed space.

When confronted with the narcotics K-9, each of the vehicle’s occupants surrendered marijuana and a variety of drug paraphernalia.

An 18-year-old from Wolcott Lane, was sited for possession of less than ½ oz of marijuana; an 18-year-old from Hawkins Road and a 19-year old Ridge Road resident both were charged with possession of less than 1/2 oz of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

All three received infraction tickets for their actions.

(Because these were not arrests, but infraction tickets, Orange Live did not include the boys names.)

Police were dispatched to the Wendy’s Restaurant, 15 Boston Post Road on a domestic violence complaint April 26 at 9:12 p.m.

According to the police report, during the investigation officers learned that Frederick Buzzell, 30, of 210 Alden Avenue, New Haven, had gotten into an argument with his girlfriend over her cell phone, which resulted in him allegedly striking and choking her, then leaving the restaurant with the phone.

Officers located Buzzell a short distance away. He was subsequently taken into custody and charged with third-degree assault, second-degree strangulation, second-degree unlawful restraint, second-degree breach of peace, sixth-degree larceny, and possession of marijuana.

He was held on $7,500 bond for court April 28.

BEST POLICE Patch EVEROfficers investigating the domestic incident on Wagon Trail on April 6 at 2:40 a.m., observed a vehicle drive at a high rate of speed down the road and lose control near Broadview Road.

Police stopped the vehicle and had the driver, Michael Clark, 18, of 837 Glenbrook Road, Orange perform standardized roadside sobriety tests.

During the stop, officers reportedly saw a small amount of marijuana inside the vehicle.

Clark was subsequently taken into custody and charged with Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, reckless driving and possession of marijuana.

He was released after posting $50 bond for court April 21.

Suspicious vehicle, drug arrest

Orange police responded to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle parked on the side of Woodland Lane Dec. 4 at 8:59 p.m.

Upon arrival officers approached the  car and found the driver, James Wright, 20, of 282 Terrace Ave., C4, West Haven and a juvenile inside.

During the investigation, Wright reportedly admitted that they were smoking marijuana in the car.

Officers seized a small amount of marijuana and discovered that the license plate on the car was assigned to a different vehicle and that there was no insurance on the car.

Wright was charged with possession of marijuana, driving an unregistered motor vehicle, misuse of marker plates and driving without insurance.

He was released on a promise to appear in court Dec. 18.
