Orange Post 127 fell behind early and couldn’t come back in an 11-3 loss to Stamford on Sunday. Stamford scored on a walk in the first inning, a double and a single in the second inning.

Stamford captured the lead in the first inning. One player drove in a run when he walked with the bases loaded.

Post 127 evened things up at one in the bottom of the first inning. Al Smith grounded out, scoring one run.

After Stamford scored a run on a double in the top of the sixth, Orange answered with one of their own when Andy Hague hit into a fielder’s choice, and one run was scored.

Stamford took the lead for good with three runs in the second inning. Stamford scored three runs on two doubles in the third inning.

Teddy Hague took the loss for Orange. He pitched two innings, allowing five runs, five hits, and striking out one.

Tyler Appel, Hague, and Smith each drove in one run to lead Orange.

With this loss, Post 127’s record falls to 15-8.

Chase Burzynski didn’t allow a single run as Orange Post 127 defeated Milford 1-0 at Old Tavern Park on Wednesday.

Burzynski allowed just one hit and struck out a Milford player to end the game.

Orange didn’t take the lead until later in the game. A sacrifice bunt by Kiwanis (#23) scored one run for Post 127.

One bright spot for Milford was a single in the fourth inning.

Burzynski earned the win for Orange. He tossed seven innings, giving up zero runs, one hit, and striking out ten. Milford’s pitcher threw six innings, giving up one run, three hits, and striking out four.

Jack Nolan, Andy Hague, and Jared Smith each managed one hit to lead Orange.

Matt Ronai safely slides into second base

Orange Post 127 pounded New Haven on Monday 8-1 at Brinley in seven innings.

Orange Post 127 scored four runs in the fourth on Orange Post 127 scored in the fourth on a fielder’s choice, a two-run double by Anthony Capozziello, and an RBI single by Matt Ronai.

Orange Post 127 was led by a flawless day at the dish by Devin Belenski, who went 3-3 against New Haven’s pitching. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the second and fifth innings.

Eric Class picked up the win for Orange Post 127. Class pitched seven innings and allowed no earned runs, three hits and no walks while striking out one.

J.L. Dewar ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He allowed eight runs in six innings, walked none and struck out three.

Orange Post 127 scored one run of its own in the first. Orange Post 127 scored on Capozzielllo’s sacrifice fly.

Orange Post 127 went up for good in the second, scoring three runs on two singles.

Mike Concato went 3-3 at the plate, helping Orange Post 127 to a 10-6 victory over East Haven on Saturday at East Haven High School.

He singled in the third, fourth, and seventh innings.

Even though Concato allowed six runs over seven innings he still recorded the victory. Concato struck out 10, walked three and gave up nine hits.

Orange Post 127 went up for good in the first, scoring two runs on a sacrifice fly by Concato and an RBI single by Justin Ashworth.

East Haven posted one run in each of the first, fourth and seventh. In the first, East Haven scored on an RBI double by Andrew Hinkley, bringing home Mike Corso.

Orange Post 127 tacked on another four runs in the third. The inning got off to a hot start when Mike Appel singled, scoring Matt Ronai.

After pushing across three runs in the bottom of the third, East Haven faced just a 6-4 deficit. A sacrifice fly by Brandon Wynne and a two-run home run by Kyle Lockery set off East Haven rally. Finally, Concato induced an inning-ending ground out from Gary Flowers.

Orange Post 127 brought home one run in the fourth inning, and matched that run total in the fifth. In the fourth, Orange Post 127 scored on an error, plating Concato.

Orange Post 127 increased its lead with two runs in the seventh. A sacrifice fly scored Keith Klebart for the inning’s first run. That was followed up by Concato’s single, scoring Jake Russo.

One run in the bottom of the seventh helped East Haven close its deficit to 10-6. A fielder’s choice sparked East Haven’s rally. Concato got the last out, as East Haven’s Kyle struck out.

Orange plays East Haven tonight at Brinley Field at 7 p.m.

The Orange Ball Players leave the field after another victory

With its 5-1 victory over 25th seeded New Milford Post 31 on Saturday, Willimantic Post 19 (ranked  24th with a record of 20-11) has advanced to a state tournament play-in finals contest against  9th-seeded  Orange Post 127 (19-5).

It will be a 9 inning game that will be played at 1 p.m. Sunday at Brinley Field. The winner of this contest moves on to the Connecticut American Legion 16-team double-elimination tournament that starts on Saturday, July 28th at Bristol and Stamford .
