Chief R. Gagne, Sgt. Kosh, Sgt. DeRubeis, Asst. Chief A Cuozzo

As we announced on Saturday, that two wonderful Orange police officers were promoted to the rank of Sergeant in a ceremony at headquarters on March 24.

Sgt. Michael Kosh, 48, is the married father of two.
He has a BS in Business management from Southern CT State University.
Sgt. Kosh was hired in March 2004. He served on the patrol division from 2004-2016 and was in the Investigative Services Unit from 2016 until his

promotion last week.

Many residents and children in town know Sgt. Kosh from the Special Assignments he’s had:
    K-9 Handler – K-9 Max  2006 – 2013
    School Resource Officer – 2013-2016
During his career so far, Sgt Kosh has earned the following Commendations:
    Certificate of Commendation (2)
    Letter of Recognition (2)
He will Be assigned to the Patrol Division.


Jonathan DeRubeis teaching a firearms chapter at the 2015 Police Citizen’s Academy.

Sgt. Jonathan DeRubeis, 34, is the married father of 2.

He has a BS Sociology/criminology from Southern Ct State University.
Sgt. DeRubeis was hired in July 2007, and has been assigned to patrol from December 2007 to the present.
His Special Assignments include:
    SRT (Strategic Response Team) May 2010 – May 2016
    Firearms instructor, and he assists with Information Technologies.
He earned the following Commendation:
    Meritorious Service Award
Sgt. DeRubeis will be assigned to the Patrol Division.
