The agenda includes one item: To consider and act on a bid recommendation for the Turkey Hill School ADA Project.
Meeting with Consultant Planner Glenn Chalder of Planimetrics.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss strategy options, concepts/ideas; comments received from the public, property owners, and municipal department heads; and review of ‘Draft Report’, concerning Transit-Oriented Development. [The Orange Train Station Area]
The Commissioners will meet with Consultant Planner Glenn Chalder of Planimetrics.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss strategy options, concepts/ideas, and ‘Draft Report July 2016,’ concerning the Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) [ie Orange Train Station and related area].
A special meeting will take place at the High Plains Community Center Gymnasium, 525 Orange Center Road, on Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. The meeting will provide an opportunity for Orange residents to listen to a short presentation about the Plan and then provide comments and feedback to the Commission.
Following the meeting, the Commission will be looking at further refining the strategies in the draft Plan.
Why Is It Important?
A Plan of Conservation and Development is an advisory document used by the Town Plan and Zoning Commission and other Town agencies to:
Protect the resources important to residents
Guide growth and change in Orange
Identify facilities and services needed to support the community we want to be
Orange residents are encouraged to come to the meeting to help ensure that the Plan of Conservation and Development reflects community goals.
There is a Special Board of Selectmen’s meeting tonight at Town Hall at 5 p.m.
The Selectmen and Key School officials will discuss the proposed remediation work and costs at Peck Place School.
As you may know, the Board of Selectmen approved Phase 1 of the remediation plan at the Feb. 12 meeting.
Tonight, they will discuss Phase 2 and 3 (the proposed contingency plan is NOT on the agenda).
First Selectman posted the following on his Facebook Page:
“There seems to much confusion about tonight’s Board of Selectman’s meeting. The meeting is to discuss in further detail two contracts submitted by the OBOE for consideration. These are phase 2 and phase 3 for remediation work at Peck Place School.
There is NO agenda item for Contingency plan as put out there by the OBOE. That would be a Legislative charge of the OBOE.
I anticipate better explanation in person than the one and two page documents forwarded to the Selectmen for consideration. Then action will be taken on the contracts.7
There is no other item on the agenda.”
At last Wednesday’s BOS meeting, I believe they said there won’t be any public comment section during this meeting.
