On Monday, a resident reported what she described as a weird situation in her neighborhood (but did not disclose the location).
She said two men drove up to her home in a white Ford and tried to hand her a pamphlet on teen depression. The woman declined, since she has no teenagers in the home.
She said, “I only opened the door about 6 inches because we have a dog, but one of the men was trying to peer inside the door.”
She immediately called the Orange Police to report the incident and a patrol car came out to the area.
For years the Orange Police have been warning residents of the different ways residents can be targeted.
This woman did the right thing by reporting the incident to police.
If you see or experience something that doesn’t seem quite right, call the Orange Police Department at 203-891-2130.

Officers found Howard Wright, 59, of 1703 Quinnipiac Ave, New Haven, at the store, where he initially tried to give them a fake name and date of birth to obscure his identity.

Officers learned his true identity, and further learned he was wanted in the State of Maryland for car theft.

He was subsequently taken into custody and charged as a fugitive from justice.

Wright was held on $150,000 bond for court Feb. 24.
