Orange Post 127 fell behind early and couldn’t come back in an 11-3 loss to Stamford on Sunday. Stamford scored on a walk in the first inning, a double and a single in the second inning.

Stamford captured the lead in the first inning. One player drove in a run when he walked with the bases loaded.

Post 127 evened things up at one in the bottom of the first inning. Al Smith grounded out, scoring one run.

After Stamford scored a run on a double in the top of the sixth, Orange answered with one of their own when Andy Hague hit into a fielder’s choice, and one run was scored.

Stamford took the lead for good with three runs in the second inning. Stamford scored three runs on two doubles in the third inning.

Teddy Hague took the loss for Orange. He pitched two innings, allowing five runs, five hits, and striking out one.

Tyler Appel, Hague, and Smith each drove in one run to lead Orange.

With this loss, Post 127’s record falls to 15-8.

Orange Post 127 built a five-run lead in the fourth inning and then held off East Haven’s charge for an 8-6 victory on Sunday. East Haven scored four runs in the failed comeback on a walk in the fifth, a walk in the sixth, and a wild pitch in the sixth.

An early lead helped propel Orange to victory. Post 127 scored on a double by Teddy Hague and a single by Al Smith in the first inning.

Orange scored four runs in the fourth inning. Post 127’s big inning was driven by a walk by Hague, a walk by Jack Nolan, a walk by Smith, and a single by Jared Smith.

East Haven scored three runs in the sixth inning. The big inning for East Haven came thanks to a walk and a wild pitch.

Ben Lodewick earned the win for Orange. He threw five innings, allowing three runs, four hits, and striking out two.

East Haven’s starting pitcher threw three and one-third innings, giving up seven runs, seven hits, and striking out two. The relief pitcher went two and two-thirds innings, allowing one run, two hits, and striking out two.

Post 127 collected nine hits. Smith and Tyler Appel each had two hits to lead Orange.

Orange is now 15-5 for the season. They were scheduled to play tonight at Old Tavern Park, but the field was not prepared.

Orange Post 127 Legion Baseball played a double header against North Haven at Old Tavern Park on Thursday night.

Game One

Orange Grabs Lead In Sixth Inning For Victory Over North Haven

Post 127 took the lead late in the game in a 7-4 victory over North Haven on Thursday. The game was tied at four with Orange batting in the bottom of the sixth when induced Jack Nolan hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.

Post 127 evened things up at four in the bottom of the fifth inning. Tyler Appel’s sac fly scored one run for Orange.

Jared Smith earned the win for Post 127. He threw seven innings, surrendering four runs, eight hits, striking out three, and walking zero.

Orange had nine hits in the game. Jack Nolan and Appel each had two hits to lead the home team.

North Haven collected eight hits. They were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error.

Game Two

North Haven Captures Lead Early To Defeat Orange

Post 127 fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 9-3 loss to North Haven on Thursday. North Haven took the lead on a single in the first inning.

Orange lost despite out-hitting North Haven seven to six.

North Haven scored five runs in the fourth inning. The big inning for North Haven came thanks to a walk and a double.

North Haven’s starting pitcher threw five and one-third innings, allowing three runs, four hits, and striking out four.

The replacement pitcher earned the win for North Haven. He went two-thirds of an inning, giving up zero runs, one hit, striking out one, and walking zero. Chase Burzynski took the loss for Orange. He tossed four innings, giving up six runs, four hits, and striking out one.

Post 127 collected seven hits. Teddy Hague and Tyler Appel each had two hits to lead Orange.

North Haven had six hits in the game.
