At Amity we knew Vinny Sienna as a nice guy, and a great baseball player with a passion for the game.

We followed him on Orange Live in 2012 from Amity through the American Legion Post 127 season.

He was the shortstop, #23, and just 18 years old.

He continued to make a name for himself playing ball for UCONN for 3 years.

A month ago, we published a story about the Mets decision to draft him.

And now, we’re proud to say that he’s already making headlines playing for the Class-A Brooklyn Cyclones.

Here’s the LINK to the story Newsday.

Ray Moquet shared this LINK of “the new kid” talking to reporters from YouTube.

Continued Success to you Vinny, make us proud!

Yes, Boys and Girls, if you study hard, play well and give 110 percent all the time good things do happen.

2012 Amity Grad Vinny Siena, who played baseball at Amity for four years (and was on the 2012 SCC Championship team) went on to UCONN where he has continued to excel in his studies and on the field.

A junior at UCONN, second baseman Siena was selected in the 14th round of the MLB Draft on Wednesday by the New York Mets.

We wish him all the best in the future.
