August 30 was a special day for one Orange student who purposely missed the school bus because his brother had won a raffle prize for a chauffeured ride to school on a fire truck.

Early in the morning Orange Volunteer Firefighter Leo Moran drove the fire department’s big Rescue One fire truck accompanied by Firefighter and Jake Pollock picked the boy up at his house.

They posed for a couple of photos and then boarded the truck and delivered the excited little boy to his school last Thursday.

This was a great way to start off the school year an a memory that will last a lifetime.
