At 4:40 p.m. today, Wednesday, Oct. 3, Orange police received a complaint of two males burglarizing a barn on Derby-Milford Road near West River Road.

According to the report, the homeowner reported that he was chasing one of the men on foot heading south on Derby-Milford road while the other male ran north on Derby-Milford Road.

Two Milford Police K-9 teams assisted in the search, however the suspects evaded police.

At about 5:30 p.m. an anonymous caller reported that a male matching the description of one of the suspects was running north on Orange Center Road near Old Grassy Hill Road.

Assistant Chief Anthony Cuozzo was in the area and observed Dana Pettaway, 19, last known address 1565 Ella Grasso Boulevard, New Haven, walking near Orchard Road and apprehended him with the assistance of Officer Michael Luzzi, without incident.

Pettaway was charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief, third-degree criminal trespass and interfering with police,

Bond has been set at $10,000.00

The investigation into the identity of the second suspect continues.
