Mothers Against Drunk Drivers (MADD) hosted its 27th Annual Law Enforcement Recognition Ceremony at Anthony’s Ocean View in New Haven today.
From the Orange Police Department, three members, Lt. Robert Cole, Officer Michael Kosh and Officer Michael Luzzi received awards.
In addition, Officer May Bernegger was part of the multi-town honor guard that helped to honor all the award recipients from across the state.
Orange Police Chief Robert Gagne said, “We’re proud of them. They’ve all done a diligent job helping to take drunk drivers off the streets. Each time a drunk driver is stopped and arrested a life is potentially saved. We’re very proud of their efforts.”
MADD Executive Director Janice Heggie Marolis presented Each officer with a MADD Pin and Certificate. She also surprised Officer Kosh with an extra large dog bone for his K9 Partner Maximus.
This is a great program,” Gagne said. ” MADD likes to recognize the officers and thank them for doing a good job throughout the year.”
