The Orange Country Fair this year is Sept 21. This event, begun in 1898, is an important part of the Orange, Connecticut culture. The town’s heritage is in farming and dairies, agricultural fairs, town hall meetings, church suppers and activities on the Green.
The town folk continue to volunteer for the fire department, care for the elderly, give to charity and work to make the Town a good place to live. The Fair exemplifies all this and highlights Orange’s history of good citizenship.
For the second year the Rotary Club of Orange has arranged to offer a limited number of Commemorative Posters depicting the many events and activities of this unique Fair and the culture of Orange. The 2013 Poster is a print of a painting by respected Orange artist, Graham Dale, whose illustrations and paintings can be seen in galleries and media nationwide.
These prints are poster-size, numbered and signed by the artist. They are commemorative prints of the Fair intended to be “collectibles,” capturing a bit of Orange history for home or office. Future year’s posters will be created by different celebrated local Orange artists. The price is $20 for each numbered 2013 Orange Country Fair Commemorative Poster.
They can be purchased at the Fair at the Rotary table or by ordering via email to firstname.lastname@example.org. All proceeds go to Rotary which supports local charitable projects as well as international initiatives such as the elimination of Polio and fostering World Peace.
