She was the wife of Carl Roy Harvey.

Mrs. Harvey was born in Ukraine on March 8, 1941, the daughter of the late Paul and Stefania Kozak.

She attended Southern Connecticut State College and graduated with a B.S. Degree in English with a minor in History. She taught at Guilford Junior High School in Guilford, St. Peter and St. Paul Catholic School in Ansonia, and at St. Michael’s Ukrainian School in New Haven.

Mrs. Harvey was a member of Plast (a Ukrainian Scout organization). She belonged to the Ukrainian Women’s League of America Branch 108, and was an active member of St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church in New Haven.

She is survived by her beloved husband Carl Harvey, a daughter Natalka Junas of Orange and her fiancé Bohdan Prybyla; a son Dr. Bohdan P. Harvey and his fiancée Katherine M. Zinter of North Oxford, MA, and two grandchildren, Teresa (Tessa) and Steven Junas of Orange.

Genia enjoyed teaching and did so for many years. She instilled in her children and grandchildren the love of their Ukrainian heritage.

The Funeral Liturgy will be held at St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 569 George Street, New Haven on Saturday at 10:00 AM. Interment in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
