tomLeeBlackShirtCropOn Monday, Nov. 10, the fifth grade at Peck Place School will be participating in an exciting visual literacy/writing opportunity.

Tom Lee, a nationally acclaimed story teller, will visit and present, “Think it, See it, Write it!  Visualization for descriptive writing.”

Students will “read” paintings – discuss what story the painting might be telling and connecting this discourse with writing.  Students will observe works of art and unlock their creative writing abilities.

According to the class description, ‘Students will hear stories, look at vividly detailed artwork, write, draw and role play to evoke rich language, robust vocabulary and detailed writing.’

The Jamie A. Hulley Arts Foundation is providing the grant funding for this program.

The Fifth Grade Teachers said they are looking forward to this wonderful opportunity to enrich their learning community.
