Mary Kate McNabola, 95, of West Haven, kind, gentle, and caring wife of the late John T. McNabola, loving mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother of 10 devoted grandchildren who will forever cherish her memory, died Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at Connecticut Hospice in Branford.
Mary was born October 31, 1919 in Mohill, County Leitrim, Ireland, a daughter of the late Michael and Rose Ann Kelly Wrynn. She immigrated to America as a young woman and lived in West Haven all her life.
She was a faithful communicant of St. Lawrence Church, a past long-time member of the Saint Theresa Guild, and a member of the West Haven Irish American Club.
Mary was always the happiest when she was spending time with her family. She has always been the light of her children’s lives and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by five children, Kathy (Michael) Wysoczanski, of Cheshire, Rosemary (Joseph) Mrazik, (with whom Mary made her home for the past seven years), of West Haven, Jack (Cheri) McNabola, of Orange, Sheila (James) Bertini, of Cheshire, and Kevin (Angela) McNabola, of Orange; ten beloved grandchildren, Christopher, Timothy, and Patricia Wysoczanski, Mary Kate (Kyle Bassoli) Mrazik, Megan, and Kathleen Mrazik, Kathryn McNabola, Sean Bertini, and Caroline and John McNabola.
Mary was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister, John and Michael Wrynn, and Elizabeth Wrynn Heggarty, all of Ireland.
Family and friends may call at the Keenan Funeral Home, 238 Elm Street, West Haven, Friday from 4 to 7 p.m.
The funeral will be from the funeral home Saturday, Nov. 29, at 8:15 a.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Lawrence Church at 9 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Hamden.
