OVFDThe Orange Volunteer Fire Department responded to a car fire on Grassy Hill Road at Cranberry Lane around 5:10 a.m. Saturday morning.

The first fire officer on scene said the vehicle was fully involved, moments later fire apparatus began to arrive.

Police searched the area of Grassy Hill, Turkey Hill, Route 34 etc for a pedestrian who may have been driving the car and left the scene but none could be found.

The fire was quickly extinguished and the fire marshal’s office was called to investigate the cause of the fire and the highway department was requested to sand the roads around the site.

Fire Personnel left the scene around 6:25 a.m.

NOTE: The outside temperature was around 22 degrees at that hour.
