Screen Shot 2014-12-12 at 12.12.10 PMSam J. Crescione, 86, formerly of Bridgeport entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 in Orange and is at last with his beloved and treasured wife, the late May Hope Crescione.

Born on September 12, 1928 in Bridgeport, CT, he was the son of the late George and Maria Fico Crescione.

Sam served with great pride and honor in the US Army with the Post War Occupation Forces in Japan, tragically witnessing the devastation of Hiroshima.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed with the US Postal Service.

A devoted husband, Sam was also a kind and caring father, grandfather and great grandfather, and he will be greatly remembered for his love of family and his generosity on the holidays.

He is survived by his daughters; Hope Annunziato and her husband Frank of New Haven, Cheryl Watts and her husband William of Orange and Jill Mack and her husband Michael of Bridgeport; six cherished grandchildren and two great grandchildren and many more loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife May, he was predeceased by his sister, Josephine Garber and brothers, Santo, Joseph, John and James Crescione.

Friends and family may call on Saturday, December 13 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 12:00 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford, CT 06460.

Interment to follow at Gates of Heaven in Trumbull.
