Officers found Harry Peters, 53, of 5 Crescent St, Derby, standing in the roadway wearing pajamas, and learned that he had been the passenger in a vehicle when he got into a physical altercation with the driver.
At one point, both Peters and the driver wound up outside the vehicle, but the Peters was left at the side of the road when the other person drove off.
Police took Peters into custody and brought him to police headquarters for processing. During the booking process, he attempted to choke one of the officers, and later urinated on the floor of the cell area.
Peters was charged with second-degree breach of peace, assault on a peace officer, interfering with an officer and third-degree criminal mischief.
He was held on $50,000 bond for court Dec. 23.
