The Beardsley Zoo, 1875 Noble Ave., Bridgeport opened its gates to the public in 1922.

The zoo gives visitors an opportunity to see many beautiful, rare, exotic animals and birds in as natural a habitat as possible. And it’s just a short 12 mile drive from Orange.

Internships are available for college-level students and recent graduates in Animal Care, Education, Horticulture and Veterinary Care.

Interns assist zoo staff while learning valuable life lessons about their possible career choices. Internships are available in animal care, vet tech, education, horticulture and administration.

While there is no stipend, students may work for credit.

Prospective interns must be at least 18 years of age, a college undergraduate, or graduate student, or within three years after graduation.

Schedules are flexible and available year-round. There is an interview, application and training process.

The Summer Internship Application Deadline is quickly approaching, so call the Volunteer Office at 203-330-6046 today for more information.
