During the investigation, officers learned that Anthony Sliney, 26, of 84 Kneen St, Shelton had gotten into an argument with a woman at the restaurant. The argument turned physical, and he allegedly threw the woman to the ground, causing injury.
Sliney then attempted to flee the scene in his vehicle, but caused an accident before he could get away. He abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot, but officers were able to catch him a short distance from the restaurant.
He was taken into custody and charged with third-degree assault, second-degree breach of peace, interfering with an officer, evading the scene of a motor vehicle accident, driving without a license and driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Sliney was held on $5,000 bond for court May 6.
