Officers learned that David Adams, 50, of 825 Morrison Ave #12D, Bronx, NY and Arthur Richardson, 59, of an unknown address, had filled two shopping carts with vacuum cleaners, then ripped off the security tags.
The total value of the vacuum cleaners was $2,607.35.
According to the report, the two men attempted to remove the merchandise from the store without paying, but were stopped by security and detained for police.
Police said Richardson initially gave a false name to the responding officers.
Both were subsequently taken into custody and charged.
Adams was charged with conspiracy to commit fourth-degree larceny, attempt to commit fourth-degree larceny, and second-degree criminal trover.
He was released on $1,000 bond for court June 19.
Richardson was charged with conspiracy to commit fourth-degree larceny, attempt to commit fourth-degree larceny, second-degree criminal trover, and interfering with an officer.
He was held on bond for court June 8.
