IMG_4593Orange Post 127 and Hamden both had scoring chances on Friday, but it was Orange Post 127 that was able to capitalize on them as it pulled out a 4-2 win at Brinley Field.

Hamden had four hits compared with Orange Post 127’s three, but Hamden stranded five runners on base.

Matt Ronai went a perfect 2-2 at the dish for Orange Post 127. He singled in the third inning and doubled in the fifth inning.

Orange Post 127 got the win thanks in large part to Doug Rives‘s dominant, seven-strikeout performance. Rives allowed two earned runs, four hits and one walk over seven innings.

Mitchell couldn’t get it done on the rubber for Hamden, taking a loss. He lasted just six innings, walked three, struck out five, and allowed four runs.

The top of the first saw Hamden take an early lead, 2-0. Camner singled to start things off before Grant doubled, plating Kirschenbaum and Camner.

The game was never in doubt after the fifth, as Orange Post 127 scored two runs on an RBI double by Ronai.
