IMG_8407The Amity Lady Spartans Volleyball team won the SCC Championship and now they have their sights set on the State Title.

Tonight (Thursday, Nov. 12) Seth Davis’s girls hit the court against Fairfield Warde in the second round of the Class LL Championship competition.

The first match had The Spartans over the Mustangs 25-19, second match Amity again at 25-16. Then the Mustangs couldn’t be harnessed anymore and they took the third match 25-13.

Both teams had their game faces on for the fourth match, which would either tie things up or see Amity move on to the quarterfinals on Saturday.

This was a battle between two determined teams. They tied so often that near the end with a score of 24-24 it really was anyone’s game.

Warde hit the magic 25 point, yet the match continued… 25-25 and back and forth. Amity was ahead 27-26 and then BAM they scored again 28-26 and the Lady Spartans went home with all the marbles.

Highlights from this very important match-up were:

Nicole Vaccarella  7 service points, 3 aces, 18 kills, 12 blocks
Clare Burns  2 service 1 ace 12 kills
Kiera McNeil  7 service points 3 aces  6 digs 36 assists
