Screen Shot 2015-11-21 at 2.47.04 PMOfficers responded to the TJ Maxx store, 528 Boston Post Road in regard to a shoplifting complaint on Nov. 12 at 5:29 p.m.

During the investigation, officers learned that the five arrestees, from New Haven, had taken $3,390.57 worth of clothing, handbags, and luggage from the store without paying.

Officers were able to stop the arrestees’ car a short distance away, where they were all taken into custody and charged. Two of the arrestees were found to be in possession of shoplifting devices designed to defeat security sensors.

Following are the arrestees:

Mary Rivera, 33, of 50 Liberty Street, New Haven. She was charged with fourth-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit fourth-degree larceny and organized retail theft.

She was released after posting $5,000 bond for court Nov. 23.

Additionally, Rivera was found to have two warrants from the New Haven Police, both of which were served at the time of the Orange PD arrest.

Jakmara Padilla, 24, of 5A Cique Green, New Haven, who was charged with fourth-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit fourth-degree larceny and organized retail theft and possession of a shoplifting device.

She was released after posting $5,000 bond for court Nov. 23.

Eduardo Padilla, 23, of 192 Chatham Street, New Haven, who was charged with fourth-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit fourth-degree larceny and organized retail theft.

He was released after posting $5,000 bond for court Nov. 23.

Natalie Viera Cruz, 20, of 430 Poplar St, New Haven, who was charged with fourth-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit fourth-degree larceny and organized retail theft and possession of a shoplifting device.

She was released after posting $5,000 bond for court Nov. 23.  

Arrested: Katherine Roman Castillo, 32, of 32 Morris St, New Haven, who was charged with fourth-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit fourth-degree larceny and organized retail theft.

He was released after posting $5,000 bond for court Nov. 23.
