On Wednesday, Jan. 22, the Amity Spartans improved to 12-5 on the season and 3-2 in the SCC after they beat Daniel Hand by a score of 42-37. It was Amity’s first win over Madison in more than 10 years.

“It was a good night, and I am really excited for this weekend’s tournaments,” Coach Todd Patterson.

On Saturday, the Varsity Wrestlers compete in the Ridgefield Challenge which is one of the most prestigious tournaments in Connecticut. Coach Todd is excited to have all three senior captains competing this weekend.  Brayden Esposito is returning from injury, and Liam Keylock 22-3, and Simon Flaherty 22-0 are prepared and focused for the competition. The tournament includes wrestlers from #2 Simsbury, # 8 Bristol Central, New York, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island.

JV Wrestlers also excel

The JV team, coming off an impressive victory this past week over Notre Dame will compete in the Godleski Invitational Tournament in Norwalk.
