It’s a lovely day, and the first day of relaxed Covid-19 restrictions.

Some businesses, especially restaurants, are enjoying a bit of freedom and look forward to building up their businesses again after a year of following strict rules that bit into their financial security.

As of today, May 1, restaurants are allowed to remain open until midnight instead of closing their doors at the 11 p.m. curfew time.

Also, the governor lifted outdoor restrictions, so there are no more table size limits outside. Customers who choose to sit outside don’t have to buy a meal when ordering a drink.

Any bars that don’t serve food may also reopen for outdoor service.

What about face masks?

The CDC, which has been making the rules during the pandemic announced that anyone that has been fully vaccinated do not need to wear masks outdoors anymore.

Anyone who’s fully vaccinated can take their masks off at small outdoor gatherings, according to the CDC, or when dining outside with friends from several different households.

UNVACCINATED people will still have to wear a mask in these situations.

What’s Next?

The next phase will begin on Wednesday, May 19, when the remaining business restrictions are scheduled to be eased, EXCEPT you’ll still be required to wear a mask indoors.

More information will follow as that date approaches.
