The Case Memorial Library, 176 Tyler City Road, Orange, offers the following activities and events for children and adults in the coming weeks.

Virtual Author Talk: The Great Kosher Meat War of 1902

Monday, April 26, 7 p.m.
Female immigrants discovered their collective consumer power, while a cartel conspired to keep meat prices high. Join us for a Zoom talk with author Scott Seligman!  Please note that registration is required, as for online security reasons only registered attendees will be able to attend this event.

Take & Make: Blooming Paper Flowers

Wednesday, April 28
For children ages 3 and up.  Decorate paper flowers, then watch them blossom! Adult supervision is required.  Participants must supply their own scissors, crayons or permanent markers, and a large bowl or baking pan. Registration will end Tuesday, April 27. Kits will be available for curbside pickup from Wednesday, April 28 through Saturday, May 1.

Take & Make Craft Kit: Gemstone Soaps

Monday, May 3
For adults and teens in grades 7-12. Create your own colorful, scented gemstone soaps with this introductory soapmaking kit. Instructions and most supplies will be provided. Participants must supply a microwave, microwavable dishes, and a knife. Registration will end Thursday, April 29. Kits will be available for curbside pickup from Monday, May 3 through Saturday, May 8. Please select your pickup day when registering.

Tween Take & Make: Beaded Butterfly Magnets

Monday, May 3
For tweens in grades 4-6. Whether you’re looking for a gift for a special caregiver this Sunday or just want something pretty for your fridge, you’ll love this beaded butterfly magnet! We’ll supply beads, pipe cleaners, glitter, a clothespin, and a magnet so you can create your very own. Kit pickup will take place via curbside pickup between Monday, May 3, and Saturday, May 8. Please select your pickup day when registering.

3-5 Year Old Story Time: Teddy Bear Clinic with DOCS Urgent Care of Orange
Monday, February 4, 10:30 a.m.
For children ages 3-5.  Bring your favorite teddy bear, doll, or other cuddly pal and meet a very special guest from DOCS Urgent Care of Orange!  We’ll learn about germs, how to stay healthy, and more.  Registration is required.

Tuesday, February 5, 10:30-11:30 a.m.
Need tech help? Schedule a fifteen-minute appointment! Our librarians can answer questions about downloading e-books and audiobooks; using your device or laptop; Microsoft Office applications; using the Internet; basic computing; and more. Note: This program offers basic technology assistance. We are unable to help with broken hardware, viruses, and other advanced issues. Please bring any relevant usernames and passwords with you. Riddle Challenge

Family Move and Groove
Saturday, February 16, 11 a.m.
For children ages 3-5 and their caregivers (infants, young toddlers, and older siblings are welcome, too).  Shake, clap, stomp, play, and sing at this brand new series for little ones and caregivers!  Children will learn about following directions, rhyme and rhythm, and creative play through music and movement.  Please wear comfortable clothing to allow freedom of movement. Registration is required.
