Orange Post 127 blew out Milford 11-1 on Wednesday.
Post 127 took an early lead in the first inning. With two outs in the first inning, Al Smith drove in one run when he singled.
Milford evened things up at one in the bottom of the first inning. A player singled on a 2-2 count in the first inning, scoring one run.
Orange took the lead for good with one run in the second inning. In the second Quentin Pitter doubled driving in one run.
Post 127 scored five runs in the third inning. Orange’s big inning was driven by a double by Jack Nolan, a home run by Smith, and a double by Pitter.
Zach Cole earned the win for Orange. He pitched four innings, allowing one run, three hits, and striking out one. Milford’s pitcher threw one inning, allowing one run, zero hits, and striking out one.
Another Milford pitcher started the game for Milford. He went two and two-thirds innings, giving up seven runs, eight hits, striking out four, and walking one.
Orange had nine hits in the game. Nolan, Smith, Pitter, and Teddy Hague each collected multiple hits . Pitter and Smith each drove in three runs to lead Post 127. Orange was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Cole had the most chances in the field with two.
