West Haven didn’t put up much of a fight on Sunday, as Orange Post 127 cruised to a blowout 13-3 win in six innings at Brinley Field.

Orange Post 127 scored five runs in the sixth on an RBI single by R.J. Moquet, an RBI single by Max Ritchie, an error, a sacrifice fly by Keith Klebart, and an RBI single by Matt Ronai.

Mike Appel racked up two RBIs on two hits for Orange Post 127. He singled in the first and third innings.

Orange Post 127 got the win thanks in large part to Mike Concato’s dominant, eight-strikeout performance. Concato allowed no earned runs on two hits and one walk over six innings.

Orange Post 127 never trailed after scoring four runs in the first on an RBI single by Appel, two bases loaded walks, and a wild pitch.

Three runs in the top of the third helped West Haven close its deficit to 4-3. A groundout by Matt Gagne and a two-run error fueled West Haven’s comeback. Finally, Concato induced an inning-ending strike out from Mike Savino.

After posting two runs in the third, Orange Post 127 again scored two in the fourth. In the third, Orange Post 127 scored on an RBI single by Appel, bringing home Paul Gusmano.

Ritchie singled, scoring Austin Pokluda to start the inning.

Unless it’s rained out, Post 127 will play Milford at Foran High School Tuesday at 5:45 p.m.
