On Wednesday, Feb. 24, the Blades (Amity/North Haven/Cheshire) took on the Milford Co-op at the Lou Astorino Rinks in Hamden

Blades vs Milford Co-op

The first period was scoreless, but Milford made put the pressure on in the second when Jenna Johnson made a solo goal.

The Blades’ Caroline Cadelina tied the game in the third period, and that’s as far as it went.

The girls went into overtime and the game ended in a 1-1 tie.

Blades vs Hamden Co-op

The competition on Saturday, Feb. 27, between the Blades and the Hamden Co-op also took place in Hamden

First Period

Hamden got the game started with a goal by Tania Cruz assisted by Alyssa Iorfino.

Second Period

In the second, the Blades answered with Mia Dow tying the game on an assist from Caroline Cadelina.

Then Avery DePodesta pulled the Blades ahead to 2-1 assisted by Kelsey McCarthy.

Not to be outdone, Cruz scored for Hamden on an assist from Ella Miller tying the game at 2-2.

Third Period

The Blades came out with a vengeance in the final period McCarthy scored the tie-breaker, assisted by Depodesta and  Cadelina.

The Amity/Cheshire/North Haven Blades Girls Ice Hockey team faced off against West Haven/Sacred Heart Academy at the Edward Bennett Rink in West Haven on Tuesday, Feb. 16.

Much like the Boys’ first game, there was no score at the end of the first period

The Westies/Sharks put on their game faces when they returned to the ice for the second. Mackenzie Gardner scored the first goal, assisted by Emilee Degrand.

Next, West Haven’s Mia Celentano brought it to 2-0 on an assist from Maya Boyen.

With their opponents ahead by two, Amity came out with a strong desire to catch up and overcome their opponents, gameplay was fast and furious, but, once again, West Haven scored first in the third period this time with Degrand, assisted by Geena Montano.

Finally, it was the Blades’ turn with Avery DePodesta scoring off an assist from Amelia Launder (21). But that was it for the Amity and friends team.

West Haven’s Ann Plunkett slapped in the final goal, assisted by Jenna Hunt, and Montano.

West Haven Wins 4-1.

West Haven outshot the Blades 46-25

The Amity/North Haven/Cheshire Blades hosted Hamden in Hamden Saturday at 4:30 p.m.

The Blades wasted no time getting onto the scoreboard, with the first goal just 2:04 into the game.

First Period

Blade’s Haley Cable shot the first one in, assisted by Mia Dow and Tess Csejka

Hamden’s Demeri Carangelo answered a few minutes later tying the game at 1.

Then, the Blades’ Avery DePodesta pulled the Blades ahead, assisted by Nadia DiNatale and Haley Cable.

Second Period

Csejka started the second period off right with an unassisted goal.

Her teammate Sami Drane shot one in, assisted by Caroline Cadelina.

Csejka made another unassisted goal, and Carly Silbert assisted by Csejka brought the score to 6-1.

Still seeing a light at the end of the tunnel, Hamden’s Colby Sullivan made an unassisted goal, bringing the score to 6-2.

No one on either side scored during the Third Period, so, the game ended in the Blades’ favor at 6-2.

On Monday, Dec. 30, the Blades (Amity/North Haven/Cheshire) Girls Ice Hockey Team was on the road in Shelton for a game against Notre Dame (ND Fairfield/Law/Foran/Weston/Pomperaug)

The Blades Avery DePodesta’s (Cheshire) Hat Trick certainly helped with the 9-3 win. Congratulations Avery!
