Mary Ann Ettinger, 90, of Orange, died peacefully on Monday, January 10. She was born July 2, 1931 in Aurelia, Iowa, daughter of the late Wesley Kenneth Nelson and Esther Christine Rolfs.

Mary Ann is survived by son Joel Ettinger and wife Rachel Must-Ettinger, of Orange Connecticut and daughter Claire Sehringer and husband Gottfried, of Wayland Massachusetts; grandchildren Samuel and Jae Ettinger and Gabriel and Larissa Sehringer.

Also survived by brothers Larry Nelson and David Nelson, sisters Marcia White and Gretta Earnest; several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Family and friends may gather on Monday, Jan. 17 at 11:30 a.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home 107 Broad St., Milford. A Funeral Service will begin at 12 p.m. that day at the funeral home followed by a burial at West Cemetery, Boston Post Rd., Madison, CT.

Rose Vanacore Ramadei, 103, of Orange, the beloved wife of the late Furio “Mark” Ramadei, passed away from COVID-19 on Thursday, May 21, 2020, at The Regency House, Wallingford.
Born in New Haven on Aug. 11, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Catello and Genoveffa Vanacore. She was employed at Lerner Shops on Chapel Street in New Haven for many years.
Her family was her most cherished. She enjoyed adult coloring books, making homemade macaroni, and making her wonderful Italian cream pies for the holidays for each of her children.
She and her husband loved to travel, and they had many wonderful friends. Rose had an exceptional life and was loved by everyone. She will be missed by all who knew her. Rose is survived by her five children, Richard Ramadei, Marge Quinn, Ann (John) Walsh, Mark Ramadei and James (Robert Peterson) Ramadei; her six grandchildren, Steve (Kristi) Quinn, Brian (Kimberly) Quinn, Michael (Stacie) Walsh, Christopher (Kelly) Walsh, Danielle Ramadei and John “Chip” (Kimberly) Walsh; and her nine great-grandchildren.
She also is survived by her in-laws Ann Ramadei and Alex (Rosalie) Ramadei and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughters-in-law, Betty Lou Ramadei and Lucille Ramadei, and her son-in-law, Steve Quinn. She also was predeceased by her seven siblings, John (Grace) Vanacore, Mary (Paul) DeMennato, Madeline (John) Giannotti, Salvatore (Mary Tim) Vanacore, Ernest (Dorothy) Vanacore, Joseph (Mollie) Vanacore and Marjorie (John) Martucci; and her in-laws Rosina (Paul) Miceli, Mat (Mildred) Ramadei, Anthony Ramadei, Art (Louise) Ramadei and John Ramadei.
A special thanks for the care and compassion from the staff at The Regency House. Funeral services will be private. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Screen shot 2014-04-14 at 10.09.05 PMDorothy M Piazza, 83, beloved wife of the late Ernest Piazza, joined her husband in eternal peace on Friday, April 11, 2014. Born on April 22, 1930 in Bridgeport, CT, she was the daughter to the late Arthur and Natalie Seymour Tillson.

Dorothy and Ernest resided in Orange, where they raised their 3 children, for 49 years.

As a graduate of Milford high school in 1948, she was actively involved in her reunion committee and always looked forward to reminiscing with old friends. She shared many good times and laughter with family and friends at their summer home on Lake Waramaug.

Not only a devoted mother, but she also had a rewarding career. She worked for many years at Precision Products in Wallingford where she retired in 1987. Dorothy’s retirement years where embraced by her zest for life. She enjoyed the winter months basking on beaches of Southwest Florida where they had a condo. The summers were full of festive BBQ’s poolside at their home or traveling to Frye Island Maine with her children and grandchildren.

Dorothy loved a leisurely afternoon with a great book or just good conversation over hors d’oeuvres and libations. Her hospitality was as warm as her heart. Her passion for gardening put beauty in all of the lives around her. She was the most loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be truly missed by all who knew her.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Donna Hartman, Sharon Piazza Thurston (Bob), and Jeffery Piazza (Carrie); grandchildren Heather Klein Albert, Jason and Jarret Guercia, Lindsey and Rob Thurston, and Eric Takacs; great grandchildren Samantha and Collin Albert. In addition to her husband Ernest, Dorothy was predeceased by her sister, Muriel Wyatt.

Friends and family may call prior to the Memorial Service on Tuesday from 10-11 AM. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the Cody- White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford CT 06460 at 11 AM. A burial of cremains will be held on Thursday, April 17th 2014 at 11 AM at Orange Center Cemetery in Orange CT.
