The swearing in ceremony for Assistant Chief Anthony Cuozzo will take place in the front parking lot of the Orange Police Department, 314 Lambert Road, Thursday, Sept. 27 at 4 p.m.

In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved inside to the Orange Firehouse #2 on the Boston Post Road.

The Police Commission chose Cuozzo from a pool of highly qualified Orange police lieutenants on Tuesday, Sept. 18.

In his own words, Cuozzo has some big shoes to fill. He replaces former Assistant Chief Edward Koether, who retired last month.

Since the official announcement last week, Cuozzo has been getting familiar with the paperwork and other aspects of the job.
