Following is a press release from Jon Nowinski, founder of EARS:

The Connecticut Emergency Animal Response Service (EARS) is excited to announce the kick-off of its “Dog Day Afternoon” events starting next month in Orange.

Our “Dog Day Afternoon” events are free and fun activities for dogs and their owners that EARS hosts throughout Connecticut during spring and summer. Rather than being large “pet fair” events that focus more on vendors and businesses, our Dog Days are a smaller and friendlier atmosphere for all involved.

It’s a great chance to for owners to meet fellow dog lovers, and dogs to meet new friends. We also have information on local dog resources, emergency pet preparedness, and special guests visiting during the day to discuss important dog topics.

The first Dog Day Afternoon will take place at the High Plains Community Center, 525 Orange Center Road, on Saturday, April 26, from 2 – 6 p.m. We have a rain date set for Sunday, April 27 at the same time.

Please note that the Community Center is not a designated dog park, so all attending dogs must be kept on leashes and owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs.
