Patrol officers observed a vehicle drive into the parking area of a business on the Boston Post Road that was closed at 3:34 a.m. on Oct. 5.

Upon stopping the vehicle, police administered standardized roadside sobriety tests on the driver, Paco Garcia, 27, of 14 Fox St., New Haven.

Garcia was subsequently taken into custody and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, drinking while driving and driving without a license.

He was released after posting $50 bond for court Oct. 20.

On April 6 at 2:09 a.m., patrol officers reportedly observed a vehicle make a turn on the Boston Post Road which resulted in the vehicle driving in the oncoming lanes.

Police stopped the vehicle and had the driver, Walter Guaman, 38, of 1323 Whalley Ave., New Haven, perform standardized roadside sobriety tests.

He was subsequently taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, drinking while driving and making an unsafe lane change.

Guaman was released after posting $50 bond. He is to be in court April 14.

police carPatrol officers observed an erratic driver on the Boston Post Road Nov. 5 at 12:52 a.m.

According to the report, Travis Stevens. 39, of 213 Howard Ave., New Haven was driving at 52 MPH in a 40 MPH zone.

Upon stopping the vehicle, officers reportedly observed an open container of beer in the front seat area.

Further investigation revealed Stevens was in possession of a fake Connecticut driver’s license, which was seized.

He was subsequently taken into custody and charged with second-degree forgery, drinking while driving (DWD), traveling too fast, failure to maintain a proper lane position and driving while under suspension.

Stevens was released after posting $10,000 bond and he has a court date of Nov. 19.

Drinking While Driving

Patrol Officers stopped a car on Route 34 Westbound after identifying it as having a suspended registration on Dec. 3 at 6:52 p.m.

During the stop officers observed that the driver identified as Timothy Krug, 51, of 84 Westfield St. #2, West Haven, had been drinking alcohol while driving the vehicle.

He was taken into custody and charged with drinking while driving, and driving with a suspended registration.

Krug was released after posting $50 bond for court Dec. 17.

 

Survey Equipment Taken, Returned

On Nov. 30 at 9:38 a.m. Ernest Cuzzocreo, 66, of 30 Prindle Road, West Haven surrendered himself at police headquarters after learning that a warrant had been obtained for his arrest.

Police said the warrant stemmed from an incident on August 13, when Cuzzocreo allegedly removed a machine being used by surveyors to locate underground power lines from a telephone pole and left with it.

According to the report, the equipment was returned to the survey crew a short time later by another person, but it had been damaged during the removal.

Cuzzocreo was charged with disorderly conduct and third-degree criminal mischief.

He was released on a promise to appear in court Dec. 13.
